How To Remove Milk Paint

Removing paint was always a scary process to me: put on a chemical, look for it to do the work, then have it off – seems simple enough. But the chemical itself worries me. I mean, paint, poly, all that stuff is toxic enough, just if yous need some other solution to have it back off… that seems way more harsh to me. When I establish myself needing to remove paint for a project gone awry, I was gifted a tool through HomeRight that was made to remove pigment – and it was chemical gratuitous – and then I decided try it to see if it would piece of work. Later on a little research (and a lot of trial and error), I finally learned how to remove paint from piece of furniture without chemicals.

Using a heat gun to remove paint is super, duper easy. If yous can dry out your hair and brush it at the aforementioned time, yous can practise it. I used the Heat Pro Deluxe Ii by HomeRight, which they sent to me to attempt.

The heat loosens upward the pigment, then that you can remove it with the scraper (too included in the kit.) For large flat surfaces (similar a table peak), In that location is an attachment that helps channel the hot air (that's over m degrees!) right where you desire it to go. I worked in small 4 inch square areas, and then the paint wouldn't cool and re-harden before scraping.

Once you have all the paint removed, then sand the expanse well and repaint.

Edited to add together: Please read through all precautions, etc. in the volume included with the tool. Yous should article of clothing a face mask when removing paint. If you call up that your paint contains lead, please take extra precautions before removing paint.
